How Do I Add an Outline to My Text Overlays?

In this article, you'll learn how to add a white outline to your text.

STEP 1:

Log in to your ClickDesigns account and from your project, hover your mouse over to the left pane and click Text and Add New Text layer


A new text box will appear on your canvas.

STEP 2:

The non the left pane, edit the text on the Edit Text box according to how you want the text overlay to read.

STEP 3:

Next, resize the text by clicking and holding one of the corner's of the text box while slowly dragging it to make it larger or smaller.


STEP 4:


Align your text overlay in the text box by clicking on Left, Center or Align Right. In this case we're choosing Align Center.


STEP 5:

Choose a font that you prefer by clicking the dropdown arrow and by scrolling up and down.



STEP 6:


Then choose the color of the text.


STEP 7:


Then turn on Stroke by turning the radio button and choose the stroke color. In this case we are choosing color white.


STEP 8:

Adjust the stroke width. In this case we are making it at 3.4.



STEP 9:


Then turn on Shadow by turning the radio button and choose the shadow color. In this case we are choosing color black.


STEP 10:


Adjust offsetting vertically and horizontally as well as the Blur level of the shadow.


STEP 11:


Then center horizontally and center vertically your text on your canvas by clicking Center Horizontally and Center Vertically.


STEP 12:


Finally, choose a background color that will make the text stand out for good readability.
