How Do I Use The Color Picker Tool?

In this article, you will learn how to use the Color Picker Tool to make designing easier.

The Color Picker Tool will allow you to select an object or a text and copy the color code so you can use it in another portion of your design.

No need to guess the color code anymore!

Let's dive right in.

Step 1.

First, log in to your ClickDesigns account to get to your Dashboard.

Step 2.

To get started, you can choose one of the following:

  1. Edit an existing design, under My Designs

  2. Start from scratch, or

  3. Edit any template from Templates, and then click Use Template

Whether you're creating from scratch, editing a design, or a template, each choice should take you to the Editor page.

Step 3.

Once on the Editor page, you can now click the Color Picker Tool icon, highlighted in red.

Step 4.

After clicking the Color Picker Tool icon, you will now be able to hover on any part of the canvas to copy the color that's highlighted by the Color Picker Tool.

Step 5.

After clicking on the color you like on your canvas, you'd be notified that the color code has been copied at the bottom-right part of the page.

Step 6.

To demonstrate how it's used, you can add a new text layer, as highlighted on the top-half portion of the page.

Click Text.

Click Add New Text Layer.

Your new text box should appear anywhere on your canvas.

Step 7.

Under Text Settings, go to the Color section, and copy-paste the color code in the box below it.

Note: After entering the color code in the box, the exact color would be shown at the bottom part of the color spectrum. The added text's color should now match the chosen color code.

In this example, the chosen color's code is #FAEB69.

And that is one of the ways you can use the Color Picker Tool.

Note: You can easily use the copied color code on different movable or editable elements on your canvas by pasting the code in the Color box for the respective element.
